Nicole Kidman backed the U.N. drive to end violence against women. She helped gather signatures on an Internet petition titled “Say NO to violence against women”,(www.saynotoviolence.org), rejecting violence against women and urging actions to stop the vicious acts.

As UNIFEM indicates that one in three women will experience violence in her lifetime, Nicole said that it was “an appalling human rights violation”.
